We understand that there are varying opinions about the best configuration of French Horn to use for learning and progression, and as a result have developed a wide range suitable for any approach.

The JP161 is a single Bb French Horn with a small wrap design, ideal for players with smaller hands. This instrument also features adjustable ‘duck’s feet’ which help support younger players who may struggle with a heavier instrument. The JP161 is recommended by Ian Smith of the Royal Ballet Symphonia who described it as “the best student instrument I have tried by a long way.”. The JP162 F French Horn and JP163 Bb/F French Horn are both similar in terms of specification to the JP161, however the JP162 F French Horn plays in the key of F (rather than Bb) and the JP163 Bb/F French Horn features a compensating system enabling it to play in both Bb and F.
